I'm betting the shorts GS are trying to save are their own! These dealers in the underwriter selling groups can sometimes (usually) run huge short positions to "stabilize" their deals. GS (IMHO) made a bad bet here and are getting their nads squeezed off!!! Maintaining that $17.00 price target demonstrated GS transparency. They're screwed!!!
