If chanbond's lawyers inquired to cable labs about the patents, wouldn't it be their job to compare to see if they are indeed the same? Sorry, I have not done any homework on cable labs, but the way you speak about them makes them sound as a policing agency. Am I correct?
From what I can see there, they dont appear to be anything more than another player in cable tech IP, not a SSO. They would not be able to set a specification for the entire industry, they contribute IP just like Chanbond does.
