i avoided that area because of rush hours being what they are up there. bethesda around 8 miles from the FDA and rockville...another traffic beast. i was tempted myself to stay in that direction at a Marriott with a club lounge - but the traffic not worth it - especially if seating is limited.

are you attending on the 14th?

Getting from Bethesda to New Hampshire Ave. can be a nightmare on weekends, wouldn't even think about trying to do it during morning/evening rush hours - that part of the Beltway is full of sharp curves and hills that slow traffic to a crawl even in good weather - god forbid it be raining, cars wreck frequently. And Rockville is even worse - have to deal with I-270 traffic, which is a rolling roadblock every evening, after you've already sat in the Bethesda traffic on the Beltway (or vice-versa).
