In 2018, an estimated 1,735,350 new cases of cancer will be diagnosed in the United States and 609,640 people will die from the disease.

Can DCVax help 100,000 patients a year? I hope so once the therapy is validated.



It could eventually be much more than 100,00 patients a year because in the future we may also be looking at treating many types of OPERABLE solid cancers.

After undergoing tumor resection, homologous dendritic cell preparations can then be injected into the patients' remaining tumor areas. In parallel the tumor lysates obtained from the resections can be prepared in vitro with homologous dendritic cells to form a homologous vaccine a la DCVax-L. This homologous vaccine can then be administered subcutaneously. Hopefully such dual vaccination treatments will turn out to be doable and synergistic.
