#249458 RE: exwannabe #249451

exwannabe,

Still looking for that referrence even though longfellow95 offered proof of concept but in the mean time think about the process of cell development. For example, dendritic cells and macrophages as well as other types of cells begin as monocyte precursors that become differentiated into specific types of cells with specific types of activation depending on environmental stimuli or signalling. Cancer disrupts normal signalling but never in every part of the body at the same time. So just because someone has a blood cancer does not mean that every blood cell of a certain type is cancerous at the same time. Selective targeting by a properly activated immune system allows the removal of any cell that has the cancer targets causing the problem while leaving the healthy ones alone and as you know, new cancer free cells are being constantly created in our bodies. CAR-T is not that selective while dendritic cells can be made to be extremely selective with an easier process than CAR-T cells can be. Scientists saw the promise held in CAR-T and Wall Street jumped on the band wagon just as they did with checkpoint inhibitors. Guess where they will be forced to jump to next :) . Best wishes.
