I thought the same thing, but if you had a good PR person then they should be able to spin it as a win-win for both sides. What are we paying some of these people for?

Could be...but also geopolitical ramifications of this deal potentially quite large...given current negotiations between US and China on "phase 1" deal. I also wonder about IDCC settling for no payment for past infringement/licensing. Seems to me some risk of ZTE (aka China) also not paying royalties in future depending on how things all work out? Again, IDCC may be a pawn (and to shareholder benefit) in all that gets worked out between China/US.

However do you think it has anything to do with a Quite Period before earnings next week?

Or maybe IDCC will splaine themselves better after the stock price reaches 80.
