dcsteve, I dont think the longterm play in this sector are with the growers. If I had to guess the winners would be (1) the companies that use cannabis to develop a pharmaceutical drug that receives FDA (or equivalent) approval...however this is a long (due to the research necessary) and expensive process. (2) Biotechnology companies capable of doing more (drug absorption) with less product. If you can do more with less than you dont need acres upon acres of crop to supply your consumers. I think Cannabis 2.0 will eventually prove this. Canada is limiting beverages to a total serving of 10mg of cannabis across the whole package/case. Meaning if your beverage contains 10mg per bottle you can only sell one of those bottles...however if you can use a technology to give the same effect of 10mgs in a 2.5mg per serving then your package can contain 4 beverages.

A majority of mass cultivation will go into extraction. it will be cheap.

I believe we will see a new market formed for derivatives of oils; food and beverages. A new market formed by [beverage, food] industry leaders and craft producers.
