Mr. Duffy joined NWBO in September, 2019. Previously he was a low level employee at Merck, in charge of paper pushing and filing. It was rumored that he worked in Keytruda, but nobody seems to know what his role was. However, it was not a significant role. He was just a behind the scenes kind of guy.

Mr. Duffy met Linda Powers, the CEO of NWBO at a conference and expressed his frustration of not being able to move up at Merck. Linda Powers then explained to him how NWBO is in need of young talent, and how many opportunities there were at NWBO. This is not a direct quote, but the gist of what she said to him was, “We are all old people here at NWBO. You can first take the job as VP here. Who knows, in a few years you may succeed me as the CEO. The opportunities at NWBO are limitless.”

Given the secrecy of NWBO, we are not able to either confirm or deny the facts concerning the above course of events.
