Sheesh!! They used to have the decency to wait till after Halloween, at least. Once upon a time, they held off till after Thanksgiving. But of course Thanksgiving doesn't involve presents, so it doesn't count anymore.

Should we start buying whatever one buys for Easter? Just to be sure not to miss out?

A good friend emailed me this afternoon. She said the Costco in her area has Christmas on display. Ugh.

There ought to be a Constitutional Amendment forbidding Christmas decorations before punkin day.

I forgot to mention that you have earned the Gloating and Huzzah Trophy for being the first to spot Christmas decorations in the heat of September and waaay before punkin day.

Well done.

Hi Shelly,

Thanks for the post.

Yeppers, as posted Costco put up Christmas displays a few weeks ago.

The merchandising and commercialization of Christmas and of the season is crazy and wrong.

There ought to be a law banning the mere mention of buying Christmas gifts until after Halloween or after the first frost appears in Michigan. That gives you a seven week period to buy goodies and get into the spirit.
