technically all FCEVs could be considered range extenders - the range is just smaller than in BEV with range extender - Like the Workhorse units with BMW gas range extenders.

True FCEV have far lighter energy source due to the smaller battery required.

Gasoline range extenders. Just like the BMW's and the new Ford's.

Not 100% ZEV, but a great compromise, because you can refill anywhere.
