1) I have had no cardiac event in my lifetime...but had, before V scrip, the plaque described in 5} in 1 neck artery that never caused angina, MI etc.

2) I am a T1-D since 1957

3) I have a risk factor-- family history of father and his 3 sisters death from early CVD, father with HA at age 51 after 1st HA at 41.

4) I have been on a statin for years, no stent; TGs are in post 117234.

5) I am obviously primary prevention...the initial small plaque in 1 coronary artery has been stable for 6+ years of V. am now 82 years

My opinion: plaque is/was an additional risk factor even tho' it caused no event....might even meet Kaiser's definition:
