I believe stock options and bonuses are tied into new business in 2007. Therefore it is in the employees benefit to delay new business until 2007.

I dont expect much

Back in January, I would bet that most would have thought the LG announcement would have been THE watershed event. Unfortunately for long suffering shareholders, it wasn't and we are still waiting on it. Hell back in 2003, most here would have thought it was the Ericy 2g settlement that was going to break the logjam then those unethical bastards from Finland didn't honor their agreement and dragged us through the slow court system and the same with those bastards from Korea. What will break it? I guess we might find out in the next decade or so when 4g comes out. Now that is frustration talking.

Does anyone here have any creative ideas as to what(when & why)will cause this stalemate(or stallmate) we are in,to be broken? We are about to enter 2007 and frustration is definitely setting in re:new 3g licenses-particularly the large oems. What is going to be the watershed event to break this logjam and when can we expect it? The endless claims and counter claims within the industry seems to be a stall tactic rather then any substantial event that will define progress going forward.IDCC seems to be caught between a rock and hard place because no major oem wants to be the one to step out and recognize the rightful place we should have in 3g technology. It's as if everone knows a major shoe is going to drop soon that will define 3g licensing, but until it does, no one is in any hurry to make a move. Will we have to wait for qcom and nok to settle their differences or will one or the other make a move concerning IDCC to either define FRAND(nok license)or strengthen their ipr demands(qcom buying IDCC)?The worst case scenario,in my opinion,is having to wait beyond April for this thing to play out between qcom/nok.The time element is becoming crucial to valuing this stock and litigating will only lenghthen the problem.I'm sure all of us thought we would be further ahead at this juncture, and the way I read this is, we are at a sh*t or get off the pot time.If you can't beat em join em!

unfortunately the only thing that will break this log jam is a judge. We need a judge that is tired of playing these lawsuit games and they smack down one of the offenders. That will break the log jam, until then, game as usual. The offenders know our legal system will just reward them for their tactics. I hate to say it but if I am NOK I never sign and I make you sue me every time, because I know I can delay payment years and years and with our legal system I may get lucky and not have to pay at all or worst case scenario is I have to pay what I would have licensed for anyway, plus some small interest. So why not roll the dice and hope I get lucky and convince a judge I don't owe anything. Our courts need to give them a reason to sign, but they won't. jmo
