Your insurer will not necessarily know what your doc prescribed you, only in managed care settings would that data be available (combined healthcare and drug plan) - but they *will* know what scrips you got filled or not filled at a pharmacy because they paid for them. If some insurer wants to be a real stickler for patients strictly meeting the R-IT label they could refuse if you're not on a statin, but I seriously doubt anyone is actually going to do that, drug cost is quite low.
