On 9/25/2018:

An entry criterion for the REDUCE-IT study were LDL-C levels of 41 to 100 mg/dL (median was 75 mg/dL). Patients also needed to have persistently elevated triglyceride levels of 150 to 499 mg/dL (median was 216 mg/dL). Thero estimated that 60 to 70 million people in the United States have triglyceride levels in this range



I think the difference between 60-70 million last year and 90 million currently is the TG 150 vs 135. I think this is what they meant when they said the population is bigger than expected.

And on topic, I think the disconnect here is: on label population (15 million) vs off label potential population (90 million).
