Mateo, I agree with you and Mellow. As like Repatha, which my mother takes without a statin as she cannot tolerate one, but does take V, AMRN is going for a label for the statin intolerants. My father is on V without a statin or any other adjunctive therapy as he cannot tolerate a statin either. Think of all the people who hate statins or won't take them. I was tailgating with 2 this weekend that wouldn't even consider trying a statin because of what they read. Should those people not be allowed to try V because they could not tolerate a statin or refuse to try.
That makes no sense. As stated previously, neither of my parents are on a statin but both are on V. I don't see how the FDA can have them run any trial that is less than SOC. Of course this is a prescription that a doctor must be consulted with and who would actually right the prescription. One would think there would be a discussion about the best care for each individual. It should be an option on the label.
