What a great system we have. Any jackass can simply file a "Citizens Petition" with the FDA full of nonsense, and then give as the reason for doing so is that they are short the stock. I thought that stock manipulation was illegal? What if MRC's CP was a factor in the FDA deciding to hold an AdCom based on the issues MRC raised? MRC should be sued by AMRN corp. On a broader perspective, maybe certain types of stocks should be protected against short selling, such as small or mid cap biotechnology stocks. It's far too easy for these stocks to be manipulated to the downside by deliberate false information. What about patients who read MRC's garbage or doctors for that matter and based on that decide not to pursue beneficial treatments? What a mess the FDA and SEC has facilitated.
