Yea the inverters come in handy for generator off time. The problem with running the small generators, oil changes need to be done often!

Sound like you have a nice setup. I wish I had solar now. I have purchased a 40 amp ppt solar charger, crimper for connectors, wire and a couple of panels. Just experimenting with it for now.

I would like to have a professional install done at our home in Dominican Republic which we just came back from, but still in construction of second floor.

Retired: sounds like a Charge Controller to me. It's like a voltage regulator in your car. It prevents overcharging your batteries.

Sounds like you have a pretty good backup system. Only issue I see is the installation of rooftop solar panels. If not installed robustly then hurricane force winds will uninstall the panels.
