#28327 RE: Stockdoggy #28324

Hi stockdoggy,

First off, would you agree this very short video describes this discussion?

Note at 0:55 he seems to address your statement "I think it is simply accepted as business as usual on Wall Street." :)

---------

You say, "being invested in biotech for a while now, I really do believe that manipulation of small cap biotech goes on quite frequently."

This sounds like a sort of Appeal To Authority - your opinion is based on long experience, although you don't say what exactly in that experience supports your belief. To me you are saying that you are frequently predisposed to assume price activity that goes against your expectations is due to manipulation. And each time you experience it, it reinforces your prejudice.

Your thought process is sort of the opposite of the scientific method. In science you try to disprove your hypothesis. Instead, it sounds like you are accepting your hypothesis, ignoring or explaining away evidence to the contrary, and then formulating what you think is a plausible mechanism by which the shorting could occur to make it all make sense. You do not seem to be critical of any of your assumptions.

You say: "The great thing about America is that you can think what you want"

Be careful!!! Remember the wise words of Isaac Asimov:

“There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there has always been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.”

Best of luck to you too, but may you never need it.
