The trading pattern we have been seeing is set only by a single market maker, in your opinion?

Or is that pattern set by one or more market makers operating profitably in conjunction or cooperation with some other entity who accumulates the shares in a manner that enables the market maker(s) to garner those profits? The market maker(s) might even be directed/informed by the entity of the share price(s) or range at which the entity wishes to buy.
