The phrasing “probably positive” is a joke. By saying “Probably positive, he is inferring another trial should be done to confirm.

He has a huge conflict of interest which is no surprise. Everyone knows he’s running the trial of a competing “fish oil product” as he called it (wonder if he calls Epanova that).

Worse, he’s a hypocrite. Here is what he had to say on doctors taking money from drug companies:

“ “Wow. That's a lot of money," said Dr. Steven Nissen, chair of cardiovascular medicine at The Cleveland Clinic and one of the nation's foremost experts on the impact of industry money on medicine.

“I think this is an overwhelmingly important issue," Nissen said. That's because doctors who speak on behalf of a drug company, essentially become an employee, an advocate for that company, Nissen said.

"You should know that many of these speakers bureaus require the physicians to use slides developed by the company to have just exactly the right sales message," he added. "So, you have to ask yourself, do you really want your doctor giving sales talks on behalf of a pharmaceutical company?"”

Now go to this link and look at this:

https://openpaymentsdata.cms.gov/physician/39868/general-payments

5 consulting fees of $77,000
32 travel and lodging fees of $31,000
24 food and beverage for “$2,375”

$48,000 in direct research payments.
$252,000 in associated research funding.

I just hope he doesn’t have much sway with the ACC as he was acting President for a year, on the board of trustees for 10, and has served several terms on the Program Committee for the ACC Annual Scientific Sessions.

F’ck that guy!

Not that I know of. A lot of unexplained bizarre activities the past month, but I really don’t believe MO is the issue.
