I don't think we'll see a letter or email. Companies are not required to issue paper shares. Share ownership can be recorded and managed by the TA. Someone has been paying Old Monmouth to keep track of updates all this time. Otherwise, they wouldn't have been updating regularly. No one works for free. I don't think UOIP will hire lawyers to handle distributions (dividends or settlement) until the case is resolved.
