IMO the best strategy for dealing with competitors is to eliminate their motivation...which is their ability to profit from sales. IF you are in the position of the brand and the brand will be preferred provided no one can produce and sell the drug for a cheaper price.. If the generic costs more to produce and sell than the brand.and the brand keeps its margins low..Then the generic is going to look for easier targets...Monopoly 101..

In the fortunate case we need more API then that is great for us...but we should still refrain from raising prices...If we are indeed fortunate enough to outgrow our producers then we will be making enough money to develop our own producers...If we own our own suppliers then we should be able to cut our prices even more...The idea is to limit the motivation of your competitors..

Remember also...The more cost effective (cheaper) our drug is the more support we will get from the health care system.


This is a volume play and not a price play".. JT...
