Perhaps NETFLIX managers belong to that demographic and can't see past it?

I recently spoke with a twenty-something who found Stranger Things (one) boring.

They said the eighties references were meaningless to them, and the plot wasn't engaging.

I watch Netflix via my Apple TV and I can select the audio and subtitle
as I wish. Thus I always watch any series in its original language.

I am not sure if this is a feature of the Netflix app only for Apple or
not.
