Legitimate? In what sense?

To recap, Vedanti/MaxD lost their case before the patent board. The patent claims were found to be unpatenable. Then it lost its appeal. It’s now seeking a rehearing based on an argument it forgot to make at the hearing.

Attia/MaxD lost their RICO claim. That’s now under appeal.

Despite promises of a deal with Qualcomm any day now for years, there is no deal. Liens are up on the patents underlying any such deal, as MaxD and its directors owe $800000 plus to Google. MaxD has no ability to pay.
