Cal, agree but a little interesting that its only Vascepa and also happens around the same time as Med Res Collab is ranting non-stop...

Cal - good job on not commenting on it publicly.
I, too, along with a small group saw it early this morning and kept it on the DL, giving Amarin the opportunity to address it, if they feel the need to.

Will be surprised not to see a PR tonight.

For one, this absolutely SUCKS! I've been the victim of real ID theft once before, and the only thing missing from this unencrypted V user database is our SS #'s. As far as AMRN not being involved, not sure about that - appears they may have hired ConnectiveRx to track patient transactions like whether they are refilling scrips regularly or not (just a guess on my part). Here's what that outfit does:

ConnectiveRx works with biopharmaceutical manufacturers to help commercialize and maximize the benefits of branded and specialty medications. We leverage our industry-leading, tech-enabled services to accelerate speed to therapy throughout the medication journey. Our unparalleled patient and provider network and advanced analytics power our ability to improve medication adherence and access

ConnectiveRx failed big time on this promise:

We simplify the complex decisions customers face about deploying and refining commercialization initiatives. We do this by visualizing data and insights pulled from billions of de-identified and secure patient and provider interactions and using this data to power machine learning systems, in accordance with the privacy laws. We integrate business intelligence and data science into each of our services, empowering our customers to measure and optimize programs.

Calling this a leak is sort of a misnomer - vpnMentor actively went about probing IP addresses and ports to see if they could break into systems, and they discovered this database on one of ConnectiveRx's servers - that's not a leak, that's a "look what I found". I don't want to throw AMRN under the bus, of course, but this really makes me mad - not sure mad enough to alert the proper authorities to HIPAA violations, but I'm thinking about it - ConnectiveRx should not get away with this massive violation of my/our privacy without punishment, there are absolutely zero excuses for having porous servers and not encrypting this database. What's odd is that only the V patient database was found unencrypted - what's up with that? (And what's up with that big banner warning again - did I miss a catfight turned nasty, or did debates with the troll get out of hand? TIA if someone can PM me if they know to keep it off the public board, admins frown about discussing stuff like this)
