Those facts are mind-numbing. If nothing else happens, the US needs to crack down on imported shrimp.

The conditions are perfect for someone like NS to come along and seize a huge share of the farmed shrimp (seafood) market.

People should read that ENTIRE article!

Overall, 60 percent of our raw shrimp tested positive for bacteria, but it’s important to keep those findings in perspective. By comparison, in 2013, when we tested raw chicken breasts, 97 percent of the samples contained bacteria, says Rangan, who oversaw both the shrimp and chicken studies

In addition....how often is Romaine lettuce recalled?

With respect to by-catch, I firmly believe that fisherman should be required to work with local fish markets to sell ALL of the catch....

"here are several bycatch species that may appear on a restaurant menu or a market counter near you"

Barrelfish
Bearded Brotula
Bigeye Snapper
Bonita
Gafftopsail Catfish
Grunt
Hake
Hardtail
Jack Crevalle
Lane Snapper
Lionfish
Porgy
Rock Hind
Sheepshead
Silk Snapper
Snowy Grouper
Spanish/King Mackerel
Tilefish
Vermillion Snapper

I have tasted a lot of these...and they are GOOD!

Maybe...just maybe, you have identified the lost element in SHMP marketing.

They should hire and independent scientist and test their shrimp for bacteria.

They could put the results next to the graphic you posted.

I am not busting balls....For real!

Cheers
