#232796 RE: Evaluate #232659

The doubles partner of the legendary Pancho Segura I played with for two years was the pinnacle of my playing tennis.

On Christmas Day in 2007 I decided I wanted to play tennis. Went to my club and saw a guy hitting singles on the Centre Court for 30 minutes. So never shy moi, approached him as he was gathering his tennis gear and asked if he'd be interested in hitting some more.

From that happenstance interaction began a two year pinnacle of playing tennis in my late life: never had
the time in NYC to fully exploit my self taught tennis abilities: played under the Williamsburg Bridge in Manhattan that took 1.75 hrs ONE way door to door and played when I was a teen, played with a Barbados Davis Cupper; got invited by an advertising executive to play tennis in the South Hamptons for a weekend! .Working on Wall St and developing real estate in a wealthy town did not allow me time to play tennis. Not until I was in my early 40's did I begin to get back into one of my love's: Tennis.

So in the inception of my one and only divorce, married for 20 yrs. Rather than proceed with the 2nd meeting of the local Divorced Mens Association I decided instead to buy a remote wireless tennis ball machine in 1994 that I kept in my wagon's trunk. That was one of the best therapeutic and psychotherapeutic endeavors during a three year divorce.

So I played with Pancho Segura's doubles partner who were both teaching pro's from The La Costa Club in Encinitas where I lived. We hit the ball for 90 minutes every Sunday at Coronado Island not far from The Hotel Del which like most high end properties were either foreclosed or sold: The Four Seasons at Dana Point was foreclosed by Citigroup. All due to the Great Financial Recession that was Wall St. induced by the Subprime crisis: Countrywide Securities I had a mortgage in the late 1980's!

Immediately I invited Randall Rodriguez who related he was the doubles partner of the legendary Pancho Segura and Randall said he was born and raised in Kansas City. We met three times weekly: Sunday singles and to play doubles twice a week with my assembled former college doubles team one from Wharton the other from Cal Poly.

Not likely even doing a google search one may find Randall Rodriguez who got hooked up with his EX and they retired to the Philippines.

I've said in a post or two: I've had an episodic life which continues.

Life is what you make of it!
