Let's give this some thought and some credit to our military leaders who new Japan was for all intense and purposes defeated. We had broken their military code and knew they wanted peace. So with that in mind I would like you to say our military leaders would send our soldiers with estimates of over 200,000 killed (remember we had 116,000 fatalities in the Pacific theater) when we didn't have to invade and all we needed to do was starve them out. We had a total blockade and total control of the air. What braindead military leaders would do that and for what reason? We are not that stupid
