I get it that millennials have been brainwashed by this Whole Foods, all natural, no preservative fantasies but ocean shrimp is just fine. We have and will continue to be eating it for years to come. This all natural fad will die out

What you seem to be missing is that most imported shrimp don't come from the ocean, they come from shrimp farms. Most of which violate USDA guidelines for food safety.

The USDA just got an increase in funding for incoming seafood inspections. That will mean more lots of shrimp will be rejected. Price of imported shrimp will start to rise and the public awareness of the stuff in the imported shrimp will rise.

As more people learns about the stuff in imported shrimp the value of shrimp with known history of no antibiotics etc. will rise.

You are jumping to the conclusion that "no one will buy" based on zero information.

The shrimp market is huge. 1.4 BILLION pounds of shrimp were imported by the US in 2017. 80% of the was farmed shrimp.

SHAMP only needs to capture .1 % of that market to be a massive success.

Great post! I think the term "Peak Shrimp" would define the brainwashing you describe, just like "Peak Oil" described the end of oil...that never happened.

Some SHMP investors are sold on Peak Shrimp...to the detriment of their wallets.
