sgolds, I think the biggest surprise of the day was Microsoft. Not only did they release the beta version today, but they also seem to be willing to promote 64bit, release a test version in Q4 and the gold version early in Q1. Contrast that with the AMD presentation where it was indicated that the OS was still more than 9 months away. Microsoft seems to be getting serious. And that is incredibly important for AMD.

With your estimate of 400ku to sell and HP doing only a BTO SKU, AMD had better have a lot of white box folks lined up or they're going to be hurtin'.

How big an activity do you think HP BTO is? My guess is a pretty small percentage of their PC units.
