Maybe this will help, whenever there is a default judgment it is a judgment rendered w/o the defendant showing up for the hearing. At that point, instead of a jury determining the outcome, BRKK would have filed for a default judgment since the defendant was a no-show, and the judge would have granted it. So, on the record there is a judgment in favor of BRKK granting their claim for two million or whatever dollars they claimed. But......the dummies never pursued the defendant for the monies.
