Facebook? Sure, people should be allowed to delete their profiles. It's not a discussion site. Though people do discuss things, it's not the site's primary purpose. So if Susie is entering the job market and is having second thoughts about the photos she posted of herself making out with some stranger at a frat party, okay, let her zap 'em.

Twitter? Why should people be allowed to delete their profiles? They knew what they were writing, I assume.

Could you imagine the legal nightmare that would ensue if those tech companies suddenly stopped letting users control their data by not giving them the right to delete their profiles and data?

Um, hasn't Facebook had far worse problems? Allowing accounts that deal in hate speech? Accounts that are really Russian bots?

Wait... So who's Goliath? I've lost track. I tend not to like Goliath.
