So then you would argue that facebook/twitter/myspace should not allow users to delete their profiles just for the sake of context? That is beyond asinine. Could you imagine the legal nightmare that would ensue if those tech companies suddenly stopped letting users control their data by not giving them the right to delete their profiles and data?
Again as I have said several times this is not about me, its a much larger debate about who is the master of your data. I believe the user should have control and authority over said data and not the service provider, and as we have witnessed over the last few years the law/governments have begin to come around to the side of the individual as opposed to the mega-tech corporate greed monsters.
Its a David vs. Goliath stand-off here and you are willing to stand in front of Goliath with a shield.
