1) "2 samples provided by an individual" - which individual? And, how did that individual get them? When? Where? How?
2) "7 products bought straight from Diamond" - how? When? How were they delivered? How long were they kept? Where were they kept?

These are the vital "chain of custody" questions that would be addressed in the important peer-review process.

3) "A study funded by NIH" - many, many, many studies are funded by NIH. However, there is a vast spectrum of requirements to receive NIH money. Some require peer-reviewed publication of findings, some do not. This, clearly does not. Further, some require specific oversight requirements, some do not and only require fairly loose reporting options. It seems, most likely, this study represented the latter. Just because a study is funded by NIH doesn't mean that its design, methodology, and findings are reliable.

This is what the peer-review process seeks to ensure.

Keep in mind, NIH funded this but... NIH did not perform this research.
