"Funded by NIH" means absolutely zero. Me and 2 buddies in my garage could get funded by NIH if we did the appropriate paperwork and the "study" were in the realm of topics being funded. Doesn't mean we conducted the study properly...or managed the material in a way that ensures no contamination. @RainGawd is correct, peer reviewed is a must to provide any real legitimacy, but hey, I'm just a lowly physicist/engineer.
What was published is an ABSTRACT. When an abstract is presented it contains a cliff notes version of the study. The author and study lead is on Twitter. @MichelleRPeace sure she'll answer questions or dispute claims of being a fraud.
