(Their role is to assure an orderly market for buying and selling so if there is an absence of buyers they will purchase the shares themselves at a price that they think they can later sell at a profit. There are a dozen MMs offering to buy and sell VEND shares, although only 4-5 are active at any given time. ) If they don’t anticipate major news soon that would drive up the share price significantly they’ll take their few cents a share profits and move on to something else rather than wait around for a higher price, especially if the particular shares are not very actively traded. They’re pretty ADHD and won’t sit around waiting.
About 30 minutes before closing an MM was offering 50,000 shares at 0.63. Over the past few days several MMs have offered 30-50k shares at the ask while offering to buy very few at the bid. It’s going to take a major news announcement to generate several hundred share buys to drive the price up significantly. Maybe it will happen soon, maybe not.
