Doesn't have to be so blatant. When I said they can tell Intel to take a hike, it could be in the form of: We are going to continue introducing AMD SKUs, what are you going to do about it? What could Intel do about it?

Intel doesn't want bad blood with HPQ. For instance, what if HPQ decided that Itanium really isn't in their strategic interest? At least, not in the present form. Remember, HPQ owns the intellectual property to Itanium, they could easily start generating their own version and diverging from Intel.

That would be the end of Itanium. Think about it. Intel cannot cut off HPQ, and they can't even afford to play pricing games with them.

dougSF30, I really like the enthusiasm you put in your posts. However, Intel really isn't the all-powerful, unstoppable enemy coercing and bribing everyone. They are just a company, more powerful than most, less powerful than a few.

It isn't good to bring religious fervor to investing. Usually that is the road to ruin.
