You have to live in NH for greater than 182 days within a calendar year, not just by year end.

And make sure the state you are moving from doesn't have ugly tax loopholes that say if you move back to the state .....you pay retroactively for the years you were out. That happened to a bunch of co-workers who worked in NY state - then in Canada for a few years - who moved back to NY state at the completion of their canadian tour. They fought the State tax code and lost. NY State said it was their intent all along to move back to NY State - and they owed 5 years back taxes for the time they claimed no taxes in NY.
