I had one hell of a birthday weekend. I went to a concert in Dana Point where my son performed in an orchestra, a panel talk about the fellow I wrote about at the main library in downtown Los Angeles, and church on Sunday in Brentwood and dinner later with my son and his girlfriend at a pricey Los Angeles restaurant (okay food).
I live in the boondocks where it's freezing this morning but for all the excitement, prospects and entertainment in the big city I would rather take the long drives than live in all that one-way, no left turn, freeway lane only, no parking, horn honking, bus-laden muck.
The church walls didn't cave in and for the others I am pleased.
Oh, yeah, my largest holding (NGL) is up about 7% this morning. That's really nothing to write home about as I am merely getting money back.
I am grateful for this life.
