As long as the parameters are the same for SOC/placebo and SOC/treatment arms you know there is a fair comparison going on. You have a valid point when comparing one trial to another that has different parameters unless only the difference between SOC/placebo and SOC/treatment is being compared between the 2 or more trials. There is almost always a way to make comparisons fair. Best wishes.
