Circuit .. re. Like when statins first came out .

I was in the first 10,000 or so patients ever prescribed Statins .

I had been in a CAD trial at UCSF and was asked to go on this new drug ( Later named Mevacor ) about 6 moths prior to approval in late 1986-87 .

There are huge differences between the launch of statins vs Vascepa

For one thing ... I was required to have liver ast and alt tests every 3 months when I started on the statin

The joke was ... which would get me first ... a failed liver or an MI

The launch of a “ natural “ product , especially once approved for the R-It indication ... with equal or better efficacy ... will be a lot better

Circuit ,,, as a follow up .. Lipitor

When Lipitor came out it seemed every medical person I saw was offering free samples .... from Cardiologists at UCSF. ... to my local MD .

Since I was denied insurance coverage at the time ... pre existing condition ...I got by on free sample for almost 6 mths
