I'm not sure you're reading that correctly - spray coating a statin on the outside of a V cap could have some major problems:

1. Even though V caps are large, they're not terribly difficult to swallow because the outside of the cap is sorta slippery - if the statin spray changes the texture that would be a problem some people with small or narrow throats.

2. The coating would have to be extremely strong and durable to survive the jostling of caps during manufacturing, bottling, and transportation - just friction alone could rub off parts of the coating, meaning you wouldn't get the same dose of statin with each pill - you might end up with a bunch of statin dust in the bottom of the bottle.

3. Coming up with a manufacturing process to spray the coating on the pills evenly and consistently w/o damage the caps could present a problem.

Far easier to put the statin with EPA inside the cap.

I'm just saying I take 4 Vascepa pills a day. Not 1. So for a combo pill with a statin you have the issue of how to consolidate the EPA dose for 4 pills to 1 before you even get to the statin.

I'm not saying it cant be done but it seems to me taking the pills that it's not as easy as the folks here think just saying combo pill being a big value creator.
