Completely agree. Way too presumptive on their part. It would be nice if after this alleged acquisition, they informed their customers and recommended they purchase shares, but that was really jumping the gun.
I doubt and hope it won't hurt them - they'd just be another casualty in the Conway train wreck saga.
Give Cigawatt a call and ask if they still intend to go forward. Perhaps they researched this empty shell and CEO Conway and killed the deal - just like Peppermint Jim.
