We can be certain that there is much more knowledge to be gained by studying the correlation of those various properties of the battery materials so that it can be determined that an optimum balance of those properties can be achieved most likely to get closer to the 10X promise of the lithium metal battery.
With a $300,000.00 Grant from the DOE SBV they were able to get characterizations of the battery materials. However that DOE project was for characterization not optimization.
XNRGI hit a nice mix that they claim can give them 3X to 5X current power densities. This is quite an achievement over other battery manufacturers but nowhere close to the maximum potential.
