In the market, those who determine the most accurate valuations biased on a predicted future result win.
It's all about being one step ahead of the other guy.
If this never applied to Aurora here's an example of what would happen:
Market cap would have been stable in the millions aligned with reported revenue..
Then finally Aurora releases the first billion dollar report and skyrockets to the shareprice around where it sits now. Making the very few who properly analyzed how much Aurora can make rich beyond their wildest dreams.
No, 'Analysis' on how much money Aurora can make is easy - as it has been for several years. How much they sell.
Once a majority of the players in this market came to a consensus on how much potential revenue Aurora could bring in.. the share price rose giving billions of dollars in valuation.
Now we have a second layer of analysis that must be done.. The industry is changing quickly and wholesale prices around the globe (Aurora is global..) are dropping a hundred fold. This is a problem for the old potential revenue calculations that were once done so easily.
A majority of players in this industry are quietly coming to a consensus... now for Aurora we see over six billion dollars in valuation disappear and not just for no reason..
It's all about being ahead of the others. Very few ever are.
