Well yeah, that's why when you train in the simulator and you get those kind of failures you need to react with "muscle memory".

In my plane it's:

"Master Cutoff" - Depress and hold.

"Attitude" and "Power" - Give it 4 degrees nose up and 72% N1 and my plane will fly at 250 knots, a very safe airspeed with equal margin from stall to overspeed. I don't need any other indications for that result.

"Stall System" - Off.

"Pitch Trim" - Off.

"Autopilot" - Off.

You learn to do all that in seconds.

Then you can release the "Master Cutoff" and then as time and conditions permit you can follow procedures to isolate the fault and bring back the good stuff, while leaving the bad stuff killed.
