Re: HES

The border confrontation between Guyana and Venezuela is problematic… I am also concerned about the political situation in Guyana… The government received a no-confidence vote last Friday (Dec 21, 2018) and there have been suggestions that some of the leaders in Guyana believe that the original arrangement with Exxon needs to be renegotiated.

However, I still believe that HES is a reasonable hedge against a possible disruption of oil flow in the middle east.

Re: HES (cont).

The border dispute between Venezuela and Guayana concerns the territory west of the Essequibo river… (see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Venezuelan_crisis_of_1895)

As of now, the productive wells in the Straebock block are east of the Essequibo river and probably not at risk. These include Liza, Pacora, Payara, Snoek, Turbot, Longtail, Hammerhead and Pluma… Only Ranger is close to the line claimed by Venezuela.
