My point is one that I've been repeating since the RI results and Exas and Cologuard is a very similar example to V and AMRN as they needed to overcome decades of a statin (colonoscopy) and insurance refusal of coverage.

Big paradigm shifts in medicine don't happen quickly. We are in the AMRN bubble. We all want/expect every doctor to know about this amazing drug today and every insurance company to hold a special formulary meeting after the AHA to change coverage to tier 1 and every provider group to call all their patients on Lovaza and switch them to V.

Physicians first need to be educated and aware.
Then they need to know that the drug will be covered. Docs don't want the hassles of patients getting stuck with a bill and calling them or having to figure out what insurance covers it and what does not and is a Prior Auth required.

We have a huge winner. We need to let 2019 play out and patience will be greatly rewarded. Coverage will become universal and docs will become aware. Most of us have already been patient for 8 years - we can do this.
