It's in the Israeli's interest to develop an oil field should one exist. But it's becoming kind of obvious that the Israeli authorities themselves have become quite skeptical that one does.

They are not going to allow any further drilling in that valley unless there is a compelling reason to. It's a highly productive agricultural area with a scarcity of fresh water. MJ#1 has resulted in a potential salt water risk to the aquifer and hence the need to establish a monitoring system on this hole at least until it has been deemed to be safely plugged. Maybe even further out than that?

It's a little misleading that ZN has characterized this monitoring system in terms of some sort of positive development. But misleading their investors seems to be the business ZN is in.
