Corteva—During the webcast Q&A, an analyst asked how Corteva can compete against the likes of Bayer/Monsanto. The answer was that Bayer/Monsanto now has essentially the same chemicals lineup that standalone Bayer had and essentially the same seeds/traits lineup that standalone Monsanto had. In short, the Bayer-Monsanto merger didn’t change the competitive landscape for Corteva very much.
If this idea works in commercial varieties of CORN, the biz models of the major ag-biotech companies (Bayer-Monsanto, ChemChina-Syngenta, and $DWDP's Corteva spin) may become untenable.
